Roberto G. Ripamonti

Trial litigator focusing on employment class actions and representative actions.

Like my partners I received my J.D. from Hastings College of the Law here in San Francisco, and graduated from UCLA with a degree in Japanese language and culture. I am an experienced employment litigator mainly representing employees in individual and class-action litigation.

I specialize in Plaintiff-side employment law and large-scale litigation. I have spent the past 8 years committed to employee rights, and have litigated more than 200 employment cases in the Bay Area and Southern California, including race, disability, and sexual discrimination cases, as well as wage-claims and wrongful termination issues. But I also work with conscientious employers to make sure they are in compliance with labor regulations, including crafting employment plans, drafting employment handbooks, and reviewing company contracts and policies.

I have litigated Bay Area cases involving:

  • A class action of auto-workers seeking unpaid overtime, unpaid bonuses, and missed breaks
  • A class action of copy editors seeking penalties for inaccurate itemized pay stubs.
  • Representative Plaintiffs protesting unfair work conditions, unpaid overtime, denial of sick leave, and labor issues at a Bay Area warehouse.

Making sure that all employees are treated with dignity and respect by their employers is the goal of Lohr Ripamonti & Segarich LLP, and whether you are a single employee who feels treated unfairly, or a member of a class of 5,000 employees who want to change the practices of an entire industry, our firm is ready and able to help you find justice.

I am also fluent in Japanese and proud to represent the many members of the Japanese community in San Francisco and abroad. I participated in a cultural exchange program at Waseda University in Tokyo, and while in law school, served as both a member of the Hastings International and Comparative Law Journal and as translator and participant for the international law school exchange program between UC Hastings and the Osaka College of law in Osaka, Japan.

Prior to founding Lohr Ripamonti & Segarich LLP, I was the Chair of the Employment Practice Group at Tsao-Wu, Chow & Yee LLP.

I currently live in San Francisco with my wife and son.
